1. Data We Collect
We collect your name, email, mobile number, and live GPS location data when permissions are granted. We also collect device battery level, speed, and activity data (walking, driving, cycling) to provide safety features.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used to provide live location sharing, geofence alerts, SOS emergency features, AI safety insights, and driving reports. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Consent-Based Sharing
Location sharing requires explicit consent from each family member. No one can see your location without your permission. You can revoke consent at any time and stop sharing your location instantly.
4. Data Encryption
All location data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. End-to-end encryption is applied where appropriate. Only authorised family members can access your shared data.
5. Data Retention
Free plan: location history is retained for 24 hours. Premium plan: 30 days. Premium Plus: unlimited retention. You can delete your location history at any time. Account deletion permanently removes all associated data.
6. GDPR Compliance
Life Guardian complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to access, export, rectify, and erase your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
7. Children's Privacy
Children's accounts require parental consent. Parents manage what data is collected and shared for child accounts. Children can stop sharing their location at any time.
8. AI Safety Insights
AI-generated safety insights are based on location patterns and device data. These are advisory only and may not always be accurate. They do not constitute professional safety advice.
9. Third-Party Services
We use Google Maps for map rendering, Stripe for payment processing, and Firebase for authentication and notifications. Each provider has their own privacy policy governing data they process.
10. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption, secure cloud backups, and role-based access control. In the event of a data breach, affected users will be notified promptly.
11. Your Rights
You can request a data export, delete your account, or modify your privacy settings at any time from the Settings page. For privacy enquiries, contact our Data Protection Officer.
